The best Solana wallets in 2026

Phantom is the best Solana wallet for most people: polished, multi-chain and supported by nearly every Solana app. Solflare is the better pick for staking and hardware wallets, with Ledger and Keystone support. For large balances, pair either with a Ledger device.

Solana moves fast. New tokens launch every minute, and so do scams. A good Solana wallet should make staking easy, warn you about malicious transactions, hide spam tokens and work with a hardware wallet.

How we rank wallets

Nobody pays for a place on this list. We have no affiliate links, no sponsorships and no referral codes, and we do not link to wallet websites. Rankings use the same criteria for every wallet:

  • Security model and track record (most weight). Where the keys live, what has gone wrong before, and how the company responded and whether it paid users back.
  • Transparency. Open-source code, public audits, and fees stated clearly.
  • Fit for the job. Chains supported, platforms, and hardware wallet support.
  • Ease of use and maintenance. Whether the wallet is actively updated and hard to misuse.

We base rankings on official documentation, public incident records and dated independent reporting as of 25 October 2026. We re-check fees and prices regularly. A ranking is a starting point, not a guarantee: read the full review before you move money.

1. Phantom

Phantom is the wallet most Solana apps design for first. As of October 2026 it supports Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base and Polygon, having dropped Monad (26 August) and Sui (24 September 2026), and it connects to Ledger devices. Built-in protections include spam-token hiding and transaction warnings. Downsides: the app code is not open source, the swap fee is 0.85%, and fake "Phantom" sites and extensions are common. Type phantom.com yourself.

2. Solflare

Solflare is Solana-only, which keeps it focused. It offers native staking to the validator you choose, with free standard unstaking or paid instant unstaking at 0.5% to 3%. It supports both Ledger and Keystone hardware wallets (CryptoSlate, 24 Oct 2026). Swaps route through Jupiter, and we could not find a fixed Solflare swap fee in its documentation, so check the quote before you confirm. The August 2022 Solana wallet drain (an estimated $4M to $5M across roughly 9,000 wallets) was traced to Slope, not to a Solflare flaw. Some Solflare users were hit because they had reused seed phrases created in Slope. See Phantom vs Solflare.

Multi-chain alternatives

MetaMask now supports Solana natively, which is handy if you live mostly on Ethereum. Trust Wallet, OKX Wallet, Bitget Wallet and Coinbase Wallet also handle Solana. Coinbase Wallet supports it only with recovery-phrase or email accounts, not passkey smart wallets (CryptoSlate, Oct 2026).

Outside our top 20

Backpack, from the team that bought FTX EU, is a popular Solana and multi-chain wallet we have not yet reviewed in depth.

Solana safety tips

  • Ignore airdropped tokens and NFTs you did not expect. Many link to drainer sites.
  • Keep at least a small amount of SOL for network fees and rent.
  • Use a separate wallet for new token launches, and keep savings on a Ledger.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Solana wallet?

Phantom for most people. It is easy to use, supports other chains too and works with almost every Solana app. Solflare is better if you stake a lot or use Ledger or Keystone hardware wallets.

What are Phantom's fees?

Phantom charges about 0.85% on swaps, plus network fees and price impact. Bridges typically cost 0.1% to 0.5% plus network fees (Coin Bureau, Jun 2026).

Does Solflare work with Ledger?

Yes. Solflare supports Ledger devices and Keystone hardware wallets, so your keys stay offline while you use Solflare's interface.

Can I stake SOL in a wallet?

Yes. Phantom and Solflare both support native SOL staking. You keep custody, and the validator takes a commission from rewards.

Was Solflare hacked in 2022?

No Solflare flaw was identified. The August 2022 drain was tied to Slope. Some Solflare users lost funds because they reused seed phrases first created in Slope.
