The best mobile crypto wallets in 2026
Trust Wallet is the best mobile wallet for holding many different coins, Phantom is best for Solana and MetaMask Mobile for Ethereum apps. Coinbase Wallet is the easiest for beginners. For bigger amounts, pair your phone wallet with a Bluetooth or NFC hardware wallet such as Ledger Nano X or Tangem.
Most people now use crypto on their phone. Phones are generally safer than desktops for wallets because apps are sandboxed, but fake apps in app stores and phishing links in messaging apps are the big risks.

How we rank wallets
Nobody pays for a place on this list. We have no affiliate links, no sponsorships and no referral codes, and we do not link to wallet websites. Rankings use the same criteria for every wallet:
- Security model and track record (most weight). Where the keys live, what has gone wrong before, and how the company responded and whether it paid users back.
- Transparency. Open-source code, public audits, and fees stated clearly.
- Fit for the job. Chains supported, platforms, and hardware wallet support.
- Ease of use and maintenance. Whether the wallet is actively updated and hard to misuse.
We base rankings on official documentation, public incident records and dated independent reporting as of 25 October 2026. We re-check fees and prices regularly. A ranking is a starting point, not a guarantee: read the full review before you move money.
1. Trust Wallet
Trust Wallet supports more chains than almost any other mobile app (it claims 100+) and is owned by Binance. The December 2025 incident affected its Chrome extension, version 2.68, not the mobile app, and the company said it would cover the roughly $7M in losses (The Block, 27 Dec 2025).
2. Phantom
Phantom has one of the most polished mobile apps, with spam filtering and transaction warnings built in. It also supports Ledger hardware wallets.
3. MetaMask Mobile
MetaMask Mobile brings the same accounts as the extension to your phone. It now includes Bitcoin, Solana and Tron, and it has an in-app browser for apps. It connects to a Ledger Nano X over Bluetooth.
4. Coinbase Wallet
Coinbase Wallet returned to that name on 10 September 2026 after a year as "Base App" (The Block, 10 Sep 2026). It supports Base, Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Monad and Robinhood Chain, depending on account type.
Add hardware security to your phone
The Ledger Nano X, Nano Gen5, Flex and Stax connect by Bluetooth. The Gen5, Flex and Stax also have NFC. The Trezor Safe 7 adds Bluetooth. Tangem cards work by NFC tap. SafePal signs by QR code with the camera. See best hardware wallets.
Phone safety checklist
- Search the app store carefully. Check the developer name and download count, and avoid ads above the results. See fake wallet apps.
- Turn on a strong device passcode and the wallet's own app lock.
- Don't keep your seed phrase in screenshots, notes or cloud photos.
- Don't open wallet links from Telegram, WhatsApp or SMS messages.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best crypto wallet app?
Trust Wallet for many coins, Phantom for Solana, MetaMask for Ethereum apps and Coinbase Wallet for beginners. All are self-custody and free to download.
Is a mobile wallet safe?
Reputable mobile wallets are reasonably safe for everyday amounts, because phone apps are sandboxed. The main risks are fake apps, phishing links and leaked seed phrases. Use a hardware wallet for savings.
Which wallets work on both iPhone and Android?
All the wallets in our mobile ranking have iOS and Android apps. Always install from the official store listing and check the developer name.
Can I use a hardware wallet with my phone?
Yes. Ledger's Bluetooth models, the Trezor Safe 7, Tangem's NFC cards and SafePal's QR-based devices all work with phone apps.
Was Trust Wallet's mobile app hacked?
No. The December 2025 incident affected only the Chrome extension version 2.68. Mobile users were not affected, according to Trust Wallet (The Block, 27 Dec 2025).
